September Favorites

My 2019 September Favorite

Little things that I've really enjoyed this month.

I recently started to write a list on my phone with current favorites of mine.
little things that i enjoyed or i found helpful during the month and I thought of posting them as a way of safekeeping. In this way I can always refer back to them and they will remind me of this precious time.

  1. BOOKSTORES: How to Read More Books in the Golden Age of Content
I have always been a passionate reader, but for the past few years the amount of books that I've read has dropped significantly, which in other words means that the daily habit of reading has also subsided. That's the reason why I fell in love with this documentary so much. It has changed my life, by showing me the math and even by giving me an estimated amount of time to read.
I am not very good at maintaining new habits, my average streak could be 3 days, but since watching this documentary I keep on pushing myself more and more and even if I skip two days I always strive to fulfill my reading goal.
  2. The Libby App
If you are a physical book reader, this  might not appeal to you as much, but I want you to give it a try. I have put this app on my home screen and I've hidden my social media app into folders. By doing this and mindfully reminding myself to use my time wiser, i Have gotten into the habit of opening Libby and reading a few pages of my book instead of scrolling through social media. Also i downloaded Libby last month and I've already read 3 book on it by now.
  3. Other words for Home - A Novel by Jasmine Warga
My very first read on the Libby app. I would highly recommend this book to all my Muslim sisters living in the west. It's the book that my self-conscious 13-year old needed during my childhood.
  4. The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind - Netflix Original Movie
The title already says everything about the movie itself, but the character development is beautiful to see. Their way of living, the family dynamic, their day to day struggles and it's based on a true story.
  5. Breakfast Burritos
My families new favorite. Though my daughter will only eat the egg inside.
